Parent Governor - Mrs K Gilchrist
Hi, my name is Kathryn Gilchrist and I have been a parent governor at the school for about 6 years. I have two sons, my eldest is nearly 13 years old and my youngest is currently in year 4. For almost 20 years I have worked at a local bank and so bring a variety of skills to the governing body. I enjoy spending time with family, reading and most of all Holidays
I became a governor because I strongly believe in the partnership between parents and the school when it comes to educating a child, and I think ALL children deserve to be given every opportunity to fulfil their potential and I feel privileged to be a part of that.
At present I am the chair of the Finance & Staffing committee and I am also the link governor for the Early Years & Foundation Stage.
My vision for the school is that it is a place of excellence where children can maximise their potential in All aspects of their development, not just academic but in Personal, Physical,Spiritual & Moral. That the children leave Holy Trinity as Confident, Caring, Responsible Mature individuals.
Parent Governor – Michelle Bond
I am a Parent Governor with a son in KS2 at Holy Trinity. Over the last 24 years, I have worked with children of all ages, abilities (and disabilities), backgrounds and nationalities in various roles (Summer Camp Leader, Outdoor Activity Instructor, Scout Leader, Teacher, Mum!). I currently work for a private company based in Rochdale, teaching Maths and Science to vulnerable children in care.
As a Governor I enjoy having a say in the current and future developments of the school. I am responsible for monitoring the spending of the Pupil Premium and ensuring that the school is able to demonstrate how this spending has had an impact on pupils' progress.
I hope that as a Parent Governor I will, alongside the rest of the Governing Body, ensure the school is providing the best opportunities and environment for all pupils to maximise their potential and that they have the best start to their educational journey.
Parent Governor - Mr John Pickard
My name is John Pickard……
After spending more than 25 years working on high speed production lines, I took early retirement. My main areas of responsibility were meeting production targets, maintaining product quality and working actively within a team.
Since retirement I have done such things as ground maintenance at church, typing up Fr Philip’s weekly notices for the Mass Sheets (newsletters) and helping serve during the services. I am also involved in the production of posters, flyers and setting up for the fundraising events at church.
My initial link with Holy Trinity School was through my children, both my daughter and son attended the school before going on to secondary education. I have kept an interest in the school since then and have been a governor for several years.
My vision for the school is to help every young person to become all that they can and meant to be, through their learning and achievement in an inclusive pastoral community.
LA Governor - Mr Darren Berry
Hello, my name is Darren Berry and I am very pleased and privileged to join the school Governing Body as the newly elected Local Authority Governor.
I have lived and worked locally all of my life. I am Director of Operations for a Local manufacturing company and have been through various roles in my 20 years in the business. I have a broad range of skills and look forward to bringing them to the Governing Body of Holy Trinity.
I am married and have four children of various ages from 1 to 13. I am a dedicated family man who enjoys spending time with my family and friends. I am a strong believer of family values and recognise the requirement in today’s society for strong links between Families, Schools and Local Businesses.
I am passionate about every child having the opportunity to achieve their goals. Every child is important and capable of making a difference. My reason for wanting to become a School Governor is to give back to our local community and hopefully make a difference.
