Nursery T class teachers are named Ms Marshall and Miss Edgar.

Important Information

Please send your child to school in a warm coat and a pair of sensible Velcro shoes. Your child will need a wet suit/puddle suit and a pair of wellies which will be kept in school. Please make sure your child’s name is in everything they bring to school.

Your child will also need a bag with a full set of spare clothes inside, including underwear. This is because we enjoy lots of messy play in Nursery so your child may need to get changed before going home.

On Friday your child will bring home a new sharing book in their reading bag. This is for you to enjoy with your child by looking at the pictures and talking about the rhyming words that they can hear. This links to our Phase 1 Phonics scheme that we teach in school each day. Please ensure your child returns this book every Wednesday.

Please click on the link to see our Nursery and Reception Curriculum Overview for the academic year of 2023-2024.

Here you can find out what your child will be learning about during each half term. We will continue to update this page with photographs of your children and their class enjoying lessons and activities to promote valuable skills.

Please speak to your child's teacher if you would like any more information about this and how you can support your child at home.

Stay & Play

A big thank you to all of our Parents and Carers who attended the Kickstarter Stay & Play session this week! It was lovely to see so many of you join in with all the different activities. We hope you enjoyed the morning!

Our Easter Perfomance

We had a wonderful time during our second parent’s workshop of the year. This time we were learning all about Maths. We showed our grown-ups the work we have completed about sandwich and cake making and talked about how these types of activities can help to develop our Mathematical understanding.

We also talked about the important skill called SUBITISING which means, recognising an amount without counting.

We then joined in with LOTS of Maths activities including:

  • Making repeating patterns
  • Creating shape pictures
  • Making playdough birthday cakes with candles
  • Number songs and rhymes
  • Completing puzzles made from irregular shapes
  • Practising number formation/mark making

Thank you once again to all of the parents who were able to attend. We hope you found it useful.

Our Nursery Phonics and Reading Workshop

We were so pleased with the number of parents who attended our Phonics and Reading workshops. There were lots of Nursery Rhyme activities for the children to engage with alongside their grown ups. We even had a drumming session and read some rhyming stories together. Thank you to all who attended.

All of the children now have rhyming book to take home and share with an adult. These will be changed on a weekly basis. We hope you enjoy learning about rhyme together.

Our next parent workshops will be in the Spring term and will be all about early Maths.
