 Important Information

PE - Tuesday afternoon for both classes. Children must bring their PE kit to school and get changed after lunch. They will change back into their uniform to go home. PE kits may be left in school on your child's peg to save remembering it every week!

PE kit should consist of:

  • yellow t-shirt

  • school jumper
  • pumps or trainers

It is important that children do not wear jewellery to school, in particular hooped earrings. This is to keep them safe and prevent injury. They may wear small stud earrings if they have pierced ears.

Homework

Reading: Your child should be reading every night for 20/30 minutes. The reading record must be signed by any adult who listens to the child read.

Every child will be given a reading book based on their reading level to take home and quiz on when they return to school. They will also be given a 'Reading for Pleasure' book from the Lower Key Stage Library which is kept at in school.

They will receive an Accelerated Reader and MyOn log in to enable them to take quizzes on the books they read in school and at home. This will show us how well they have understood the book, by asking them a range of question types. If your child needs a new book before they return to school, they can access a huge bank of interesting online books on the MyOn website. This log in should be written inside their reading record book that you sign.

This is a safe programme where they can compete against classmates/ teachers and children from other schools. There is not a chat facility. By the end of Y3 children should be confident in answering x2,3,4,5,8 and 10 at speed. This is in preparation for the Y4 mental multiplication test.

Some children will have access to Numbots which is more suitable for them.
