Important information

Please send your child to school in a warm coat and a pair of sensible Velcro shoes. Your child will need a wet suit/puddle suit and a pair of wellies which will be kept in school. Please make sure your child’s name is in everything they bring to school.

Your child will also need a bag with a full set of spare clothes inside, including underwear. This is because we enjoy lots of messy play in Nursery so your child may need to get changed before going home.

On Friday your child will bring home a new sharing book in their reading bag. This is for you to enjoy with your child by looking at the pictures and talking about the rhyming words that they can hear. This links to our Phase 1 Phonics scheme that we teach in school each day. Please ensure your child returns this book every Wednesday.

We had a great day celebrating the Queen’s platinum jubilee. We looked great in our red, white and blue clothes. We also designed our own crowns and sang the national anthem.

We has such a fun time at our Phase 1 phonics parents Stay and Play session. We made musical instruments, sang nursery rhymes and even had an African drumming session. Learning rhythm and rhyme are important steps in early reading. Please continue to read your child’s rhyming book with them each week. We change the books each Friday. Thank you to all the parents that attended our workshops.

We enjoyed celebrating and learning all about Eid. We had a special assembly and some of our parents told us how Eid is celebrated. We also looked at some traditional Eid clothing.

This week we have been learning all about the Easter story. We had an assembly with Father Paul. He read us the Easter story and we talked about why we give and receive eggs at Easter time.  We showed Father Paul our wonderful Easter bonnets and sang him some of our favourite Easter songs.

Our Easter Assembly

This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year. We watched some videos of Chinese Dragon Dancing and Drumming. We then helped to make a dragon costume and performed our own dragon dance.

We hope you enjoyed the video.

Please check your child's Evidence Me profile for some pictures of us using chopsticks to try some Chinese food.

Good morning everyone.

We hope you have had a lovely weekend. Hopefully we will be able to see all of you this week.

I hope you had a busy week last week having a go at all of the activities that were available. We really enjoy seeing all of your pictures and videos which you have sent to the nursery email.

Today, we thought it would be a lovely idea for you to share some news with us. See if your adult could take a video of you telling us all about your weekend and send it to our email.

We hope to see you very soon.

Nursery Teachers

Good morning everyone.

We hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We are really missing you at school, but we have created some lovely activities for you to enjoy doing at home. We would love to see you having a practise at some of these and showing us by sending a picture or video to our nursery email: nursery@holytrinity.manchester.sch.uk

Each morning we will be putting some activities online, on our school nursery page for you to get busy with, as well as a ‘Nursery Bingo’ challenge grid. Let’s see if you can complete all of the activities and the challenges on the bingo grid, by the time we next get to see each other.

We can’t wait to see you all being as busy at home as you are in school!

See you very soon.
