Morning

Maths

Quite a few people found yesterday's lesson a bit tricky so I have posted some pictures that may help. I have also uploaded the answer sheets from yesterday so you can check your answers and spot your mistakes. Remember, mistakes are good because we can learn from them!

Before you start the lesson recap the skills you learnt yesterday by playing this game: https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/117/telling-the-time-in-words .

There are no videos today so I have uploaded the teaching slides.

This is the 4T maths display. Remember, the minute hand is longer than the hour hand.

This is the teaching clock on our 4T maths display. Remember, the long hand tells us the minutes and the short hand tells us the hour.

R

Read the clock carefully to see if you should be describing the time as minutes PAST the hour (green half) or minutes TO the hour (purple half).

English

Today's lesson is investigating suffixes (past and present tense). This will be very important when we come to write our non-chronological reports so make sure to listen carefully. As usual, please complete this work straight into your home learning book however I have also uploaded the worksheet for reference.

Morning

Maths

We are continuing our Money unit this week. Each day we will upload two different sheets, please complete Green OR Red, you do not need to complete both. We expect everyone to try the Green sheet but if you don't understand it yet and it is too challenging, please move on to the Red sheet.

Green - there is not a video today. If you wobble, please put a star next to the question and we will give you feedback on that question.

Red - today's video https://vimeo.com/497344241

Here is a reminder of our challenge levels. Year 4 learning objectives are Green/Blue level depending on the lesson, Red is if you are finding the learning objective a little bit tricky and Yellow is an extension challenge exploring the objective in more depth (these will be set as and when appropriate, they are not set every lesson).

English

We have almost completed our full unit on 'The Chocolate Making Process'. Today we are writing the next section of our explanation text. This lesson is dated Lesson 5 12th February in your pack (because we had an INSET day).

Afternoon

In your pack, you will find a computing lesson and wellbeing lesson dated set for the Friday before we broke up which was an INSET day. Please take some time over the next week, when you have a spare minute or need a brain break, to complete these tasks at your own speed.

Here is a video talking about the importance of expressing yourself (you might even spot some famous faces!):
