Art

In art you will be continuing work on the next step of drawing portraits. Today we are focusing on drawing hair. This can be a tricky and time consuming thing if it is to look good.

Remember to have a mirror to look at your hair so you can see exactly what to draw.

Tips to drawing hair:

- Look at how your hairline (the edge of your hair) doesn't start at the top of your head.

- What shape does your hair line go?  (Very important if you have very short hair)

- Look at the way your hair grows.

         - down the forehead in a fringe?

         - combed to one side or to the back?

         - straight up and curly?

- Do you have a parting in your hair?

- How far down the side of your head does it come? Does it cover the ears?

- Look at one strand of your hair. What shape does it go? Is it straight? Slight wave? Very curly? Very very tight short curls? This is the type of line you need to repeat over and over again.

\

Watch this video for tips on curly hair (including afro), straight hair and short hair. Fast forward to the section you want.
