Hello Year 1!!

We hope you are all safe and well.

This week I've been doing some planting with my children. We planted lots of different flowers, fingers crossed they start to grow soon!

We also built a race car out of lego. Have you got any lego or bricks at home? Send in some photos of your models so we can see!

We miss you all lots and seeing your smiling faces but remember this won't be forever.

See you soon Year 1

Good afternoon Year one!

We are all missing you lots and can't wait to see you!

We hope you are all staying safe, keeping fit and healthy.

Did anyone celebrate VE Day?  If you did send us some pictures of what you did or how you decorated your garden.

Did you make your own bunting or bake some cakes?

I saw lots of gardens on my street decorated with red, white and blue flags, balloons and ribbons. Did you see any on your street?

Don't forget to email us if you haven't done so already, just to say hello and to let us know you are doing okay.

Take care and stay safe!

Love

Good afternoon Year One,

I hope you are all still staying safe. We all miss you very much!

Remember, you can keep in touch with the year one team via the email! We love reading your emails, it really brightens up our days and puts a smile on our face.

Thankyou to Africa and her family for their message and pictures - Africa has been very busy at home doing some arts and crafts and has also made some rainbows with messages in the different languages spoken in her house! She also sent us a beautiful video of her playing the castanets - we can't wait to be back in school so you can bring them in and show us all! We can tell you have been practising :)

I have been using some of my spare time to learn some Spanish myself - I haven't revisited the language for a few years so I downloaded an app and it's so much fun! Maybe you guys could have a look on YouTube at some of the Spanish songs like - colours, numbers etc.

I have been practising some yoga this week, it has helped me to feel calm and relaxed. I have put one of our favourite Cosmic Kids Yoga videos below, so you can have a go at home too.

Have you had a look at the video from all of the Holy Trinity Staff on the Video Resource Centre?

Can you spot the Year One team?

We miss you all lots and cannot wait to see you all again.

Whilst you are at home being a part of History, stay safe and well.

Lots of love, Miss McGeary and the Year One Team xxxx

Hello Year 1! Mrs Delaney and I both hope you are keeping safe and enjoying quality family time at home.

I did some GoNoodle dances last week because I have missed doing it in class (it wasn't as much as fun as it is with you guys!) We would love to see what you have been doing at home.

I went for a walk earlier for my daily exercise and saw lots of rainbows in windows, I wonder if you have made any rainbows? Let's see how creative our Year 1's can be! Remember, it is important right now to keep our minds healthy and active, make sure you keep drinking plenty of water, eating healthily and doing a little bit of daily exercise.

Stay safe and healthy Year one. We miss you all lots xx

Our P.E days are Mondays and Tuesdays. Please ensure that your child has their full P.E kit in school on these days, including pumps.

Reading books can be changed daily.

Homework and spellings are given out on a Friday and should be returned to class by Wednesday.

We are learning about Animals in Science this half term and to kick off our topic, what better way than to have some animals in our very own classrooms! Lyndsay from Animals Takeover brought us lots of different animals that we were able to hold, touch and look at such as a Bearded Dragon, a Tree Frog, a Cornsnake, a Barn Owl and a Chinchilla! We learned lots about the animals including what animal group they belong to, what they eat, where they usually live and lots of other interesting facts.

Our Rights

We had a discussion about our rights as children. We focused on the right to good quality healthcare and a healthy diet.

We discussed how important it is that we have access to hospitals, doctors and dentists.
